Chocolate Chunky Candy Cups

These Chocolate Chunky Candy Cups are inspired by the iconic Chunky candy bar from years ago. They're super fast and easy to make, and will make awesome holiday gifts that everyone will love.
Chocolate Chunky Candy Cups

Can you spare 5 minutes and five ingredients to make a delicious holiday treat that you'd be as excited to gift as you would be to receive? Great! Then let's do this!

You can also tailor these to fit your personal taste and preferences, or the tastes and preferences of your recipients. When I made these, I chose to use milk chocolate because I was trying to mimic the original Chunky candy bar taste. But feel free to use semi-sweet chocolate if that's your favorite, or if white chocolate is your thing, go for it! The method is the same no matter that ingredients you choose to use.

I also made these with raisins, chopped pecans and flaked coconut. Which (naturally) are not, and never were, in the original Chunky candy bar! But, as we all know by now, I veer off course...a lot! Ho! Ho! Ho!

However, these chunky candy cups would be equally delicious with chopped pretzels, walnuts, and toffee bits. Or what about, white chocolate, dried cranberries, and chopped pistachios? See where I'm going here? The possibilities here are as endless as your own elf's imagination.

CHOCOLATE CHUNK CANDY CUPS    {PRINT THIS RECIPE}
Makes:   18 pieces     Total Time: 5 minutes

1 package milk chocolate chips
1 tablespoon shortening
3 ounces raisins
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
baking spray
mini muffin tins
Paper muffin cups (optional)

-Place the chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on medium power until the chocolate is melted and smooth. *Note - It's best to do this in small time increments and stir occasionally so you don't scorch the chocolate.

-Stir the raisins, nuts, and coconut into the melted chocolate.

-Spray the muffin tin liberally with baking spray. Spoon the mixture into the sprayed muffin tin and chill until set. To serve or gift, place the candy into the paper muffin cups and package or display for presentation.

If you're wondering what they look like inside, take a nice, long look. They're chock full of all those yummy ingredients. Go on, I double dog dare you to eat just one.
