Pictured In My Head

Food Blogger Trivet Tile

Nothing is better then when a piece of work comes off just as you had it pictured in your head!  I am happy to report that this is one of those times!  This 6x8 tile was done for Bridget of  Bake at 350.  She is an expert cookie artist who also writes and hosts 2 of the most wonderful blogs I know.  Bridget's logo had recently gone through a minor makeover so it was the perfect time to commemorate it on a one of a kind tile.

This is the picture Bridget emailed me to work from and it is directly off her website.  She was then leaving the design process up to me due to the fact that she had seen and  trusted my work.  No pressure there!

At first I wasn't sure how I wanted to proceed.  I had many different options swirling around in my head but none that really seemed to excite me.  I set the design aside and decided I wouldn't go back to it until I had the "ah ha" moment I was hoping for.  Wouldn't you know it, that "ah ha" moment came to me in the middle of the night as I lay there in bed thinking about (what else) painting tiles.  It happens all the time!

In her blog header are pictures of some of  Bridget's actual cookies she has decorated.  I wanted to try and replicate them in their photos as best I could and to bring alive the entire feeling of her website.  Shown below is the painting process I used for designing this particular tile.

And with the addition of a few more details and of course the name of her business, this tile is now complete!

I'm not sure how Bridget plans on using her tile.  She may use is just as decoration or she may use it as a functional trivet for when she bakes her delicious cookies. Or possibly she'll do both!

Whatever she chooses, I know for certain that she'll enjoy having her own personalized tile that holds such a unique and special meaning for her.  After all, that's what it's all about!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  If there is a design you'd like me to paint for you, please email me at:   info@kudoskitchenbyrenee.com
